FAQ

4 or 8 ohms?

Use the same impedance as the original speaker. Active cabinets usually take 4 Ω (that's why the R4 line exists); passive and custom-built cabinets take 8 Ω. A lower-impedance speaker demands more from the amplifier.

How much power do I need?

Choose a woofer rated for the same or more power than the amplifier per channel. If the amplifier is much more powerful, watch the volume: speakers burn out more often from clipping than from too much clean power.

What are Thiele-Small parameters for?

They describe how the speaker moves (Fs, Qts, Vas, Xmax…). They are used to calculate the enclosure volume and the port. Try the enclosure designer with the models that have them published.

Bass reflex or sealed enclosure?

With an EBP (Fs ÷ Qes) above 100, as in LEEA PA woofers, bass reflex is the better choice: more low end and more efficiency. A sealed enclosure is smaller at resonance but rolls off earlier.

What warranty do they have?

Every LEEA product has a 1-year warranty. Your purchase invoice validates it at any Xpro Store or partner store. The warranty doesn't cover voice coils burned by excess power: that's what the kits are for.

Who replaces a recone kit?

Any speaker technician. The old cone has to be removed, the gap cleaned, the new voice coil centered and the spider, cone, gasket and dust cap glued. Find yours in the spare parts finder; if you don't have a technician, write to us and we'll recommend one.
